Summer cimbalom masterclass 2023
We would like to invite you to summer cimbalom masterclass, which will take place at Faculty of Performing Arts in Banská Bystrica on 21 - 27 August 2023.

→ MASTERCLASS focuses on:
- Interpretation of various musical styles on the dulcimer from the Renaissance to popular music
- Interpretation of concert etudes by Geza Allaga
- Interpretation of contemporary musical works
- Improvisation of folk music melodies and accompaniments, creation of variations
- Technical exercises for pedalling and clean playing
- Orchestral parts for dulcimer (Bartok, Kodaly, Debussy, Stravinsky, Dutilleux, Kurtag)
- Preparation for entrance exams, competitions and auditions

21. 8. 2023: arrival and registration of participants, getting to know each other and familiarization with the tools; evening concert of lecturers
22. - 25. 8. 2023: 08:30 - 12:30 individual and group teaching
14:00 - 18:00 individual and group teaching
26. 8. 2023: the final concert of the masterclass participants
27. 8. 2023: departure

→ INSTRUMENTS
Hungarian types of dulcimer will be available during the masterclass. Those who play other types of dulcimers (hackbrett, hammered dulcimer, yangqin, cymbals, etc.) must bring their own instruments
→ WHO IS THE CIMBALOM MASTERCLASS FOR
Students, teachers, professional and amateur dulcimer players, beginners and advanced musicians who have turned 16, can participate in the dulcimer masterclass. There is no upper age limit. Children under the age of 16 can only participate in the masterclass under the supervision of their parents or another responsible person

Masterclass participation fee: € 300 (includes individual and group lessons and the possibility of exercise).
Accompanying children up to 16 years of age and students of the Academy of Arts do not have to pay the participation fee.
Travel costs, accommodation and meals are covered by the participants themselves!
Payment of the participation fee must be made no later than July 20, 2023!!!
