The main professional topics of the core of knowledge of the Bachelor's study programme Composition are related to the field of music composition. During the course of studies, the graduate will acquire the ability to create a musical work of art, gaining a wide range of creative and practical experience in the field of musical art. Gain the theoretical knowledge and skills to understand the essential facts, concepts, and principles that are closely related to the art of music. Apply this knowledge independently in the analysis and creation of musical works in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the context of his/her specialisation

→ GRADUATE PROFILE

A graduate of the Bachelor of Music in Composition programme:

  • possesses a wide range of practical and theoretical knowledge in the field of music composition,

  • the acquired (practical and theoretical) knowledge can be applied in the actual creation of a musical work,

  • is sufficiently oriented in the theory and history of composition and is able to use this knowledge adequately in his/her own compositional practice at the Bachelor's degree level,

  • is able to work adequately with specialist literature (both domestic and foreign), to trace and acquire relevant specialist information in order to develop knowledge in his/her own field,

  • is capable of appropriate music-theoretical reflection and verbal interpretation of his/her own work.

→ GRADUATE EMPLOYMENT

Graduates of the Bachelor's degree programme in Composition:

  • acquires the competence to exercise the profession of a music composer at the level of the Bachelor's degree,

  • is able to work independently in the field of music composition,

  • has all the prerequisites to keep in touch with the development of musical art, to take and present positions in the field of musical culture and to continue his/her own professional development,

  • for a full university qualification, it is necessary to obtain a second higher education degree and to undergo additional pedagogical training; if he/she has completed an artistic secondary conservatory music education, he/she can also be employed as a teacher at a primary school,

  • after successful completion of the entrance examinations, he or she may continue his or her studies at master's level in a further study programme.
